Conservation and the Environment M.U.C.C. Camp Clean-Up

Wolverine Sports and Conservation participates in a clean-up of
Michigan United Conservation Club’s Camp Clean-up day annually.
M.U.C.C.’s Youth Camp is held at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center near
Chelsea in southeast Michigan. Wolverine Sports and Conservation
Club is proud to be a cabin sponsor. We are responsible for the
maintenance and updating of the Tamarack Lodge (Staff Housing). We
recently stained and painted the cabin, provided wardrobe chests for
the Camp Counselors, and installed new doors on the cabin. Our
ongoing commitment to the Camp and the youngsters who participate
in the week-long adventures will continue for years to come. We are
actively seeking applications for disadvantaged and under-served
youths to participate in the camping experience. Please feel free to call
us for additional information. Additionally, the Novi Safari Club offers
scholarships to the Camp. Please read on for additional information.

Michigan Out of Doors Youth Camp

For more than 60 years, Michigan United Conservation Clubs has offered Michigan
kids ages 9- 16 an amazing week-long summer camp experience. Guided by
conservation values, our youth camp gives youth a chance to be fully immersed in
enjoying and developing an appreciation for our great outdoors. A true Michigan
experience, MUCC’s Youth Camp is held at the Cedar Lake Outdoor Center near
Chelsea in southeast Michigan.

The MUCC Youth Camp is a 6-day, 5-night summer adventure designed to instill a
love for the outdoors into Michigan’s kids. Since 1946, Michigan United Conservation
Clubs has helped more than 50,000 kids learn the value of conservation while
introducing them to the wonderful world they live in right here in Michigan’s great
outdoors. Kids attending the camp will experience fishing, canoing, swimming, hiking,
forestry, wildlife identification, archery and more! Campers also learn basic
firearms safety, have the opportunity to earn their hunter education certificates
and learn the value of sound conservation practices.

DNR Outdoor/Indoor Adventure Center

There is an exciting experience just moments away. It is-“Up
North-Downtown”! The DNR has opened a hands-on experience for families
located downtown off Jefferson Avenue near Milliken State Park. This five
million dollar investment in the re-development of land in the City was funded in
2007 and was completed in 2014. A 2.5 million dollar investment into exhibits
spurred momentum into the project and an agreement to re-open the Belle Isle
Aquarium was reached. A Grand Opening Ceremony opened the facility on
July 16, 2015 in a ribbon-cutting gala.
